Located 160km south of Pyongyang, Kaesong is a beautiful city full of charm divided between modern neighborhoods and older districts. This historic city is essential for North Korea’s heritage due to the fact it was the capital of the unified Koryo Kingdom (from 10th century to the end of 14th century). There are still many relics of this time. In addition, lying along the military demarcation line that divides Korea’s territory in two, Kaesong is very close to the small rural village Panmunjon.
